CPSIA Product Testing Certification

The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) of 2008 was passed to insure that children are not exposed to unsafe levels of lead and phthalate substances. Children’s safety is of the utmost importance to Thomas Nelson. We routinely test our products to ensure that they conform to safety standards.

The CPSIA does not specify what categories of products are likely to include levels of lead or phthalates, although, ordinary children’s books have not been known to be hazardous. For more information on what product categories are most likely to be harmful, visit the Consumer Product Safety Commission website.
